Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

Our fleet of GPS guided delivery vansEvery vehicle owner aims to maintain his used step van properly. For these parcel delivery vans, one way of maintaining the quality of the body is through correct washing techniques. You might think it to be an easy process but haphazard washing is not the proper way of cleaning your used step van.

In cleaning your used step van you need soap and water. The easiest way is to dip a towel into soapy water. Drag this all around the side of the van. It is not advisable to use a soap sponge. You can soap it faster with the towel. It may only be necessary to soap halfway of the body’s sides then go to the front for bugs and on the rear for soot. Be extra careful not to damage the logos and signage. If you are a contractor of FedEx, you will discover how this company hates peeling logos. Usually, it is not necessary to dry your step van unless it is painted black or dark colored.

Off Road Truck Tires

Friday, August 26th, 2011

When it comes to the performance of your truck the tires can play a big role. Whether you are looking for used monster truck tires or basic all terrain tires choosing the right tire for both your truck and your needs is important if you want to get the best performance possible.

Off road tires are available in a wide range of sizes and styles so choosing the right one may seem a little overwhelming if you aren’t very familiar with this. To help narrow your choices think about how you will be using the truck most and what type of terrain you will be driving on most often.

There are three basic types of tires to consider. All season tires are made for basic road use. All terrain tires are in the middle; they can be used on the road but they are more rugged than all season tires and can be used for off roading as well. Extreme terrain tires are rugged tires made for the serious off roader.

The other important consideration is size. Check with the manufacturer of your truck to see what size of tires you can use with your vehicle. Bigger tires will provide more clearance and better off roading performance, but they may also require modifications of your truck. If you have a jacked up pickup truck or some other type of lifted truck you’ll want bigger tires, but make sure you still stay within the limits of the modifications, otherwise you will cause damage to the vehicle over time.

Don’t skimp on tires. This is an important part of your truck. Choose quality tires that have good reviews and a decent life expectancy. It is better to pay a little more up front for tires that will provide what you need and last longer than to save money on something you’re not really happy with and will need to replace in a couple of years.

Learning to Repair Cars

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011

When I become an adult, I really want to get a job as a mechanic. My father is a mechanic, and he makes a lot of money. I want to be just like my dad. In order to help prepare me for my future job, my father keeps teaching me different things about how to repair cars. Every day after he gets home from work, my dad and I go out to the garage and start working. I have learned how to change oil, rotate tires, and even install 1971 Ford Bronco parts. I am really having a fun time as I learn, because I am so interested in cars. Now that I know more about how to repair them, I know that being a mechanic is the right job for me. I can’t imagine ever having to do another job. I am glad that I know what I want to do with my life.

Snow Plows = Awesome!

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

This is for everyone that thinks snow plows are awesome! Every winter we are bombarded with high winds, tons of snow and sleet. And every year we remember why snow plows are awesome. There is nothing I hate more than shoveling snow the ‘old school’ way. I know I am not that old, but let’s get real here. I am outside for no more than a half hour and my back already hurts. I can’t wait for the kids to get older to help share the burden. I had a friend come over after our last big snow storm. He has a snow plow on his truck, so I gave him ten bucks and he took care of my driveway responsibilities. It seriously couldn’t have taken more than a half hour at the most. This is when I decided to go and buy one. I haven’t found the lucky one yet, but I am confident that within the next month I will have one! Get ready snow, you’re done!
